Sunway University’s Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) welcomed its alumni members back recently for a sharing session with students. The informal gathering was meant to encourage networking and the exchanging of ideas. The working alumni were provided an opportunity to share insights of where they are in their careers and what they are doing. This opportunity indirectly serves as an avenue for them, the alumni to act as mentors to the students and to build relationships, creating a mutual benefit for all parties.

Professor Peter Heard, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research and Enterprise and Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, in his welcome speech said, “Universities measured in a number of ways and the most common is the quality of research like Harvard, Cambridge and Oxford which are seen as top world class universities due to the quality and volume of research work conducted at these institutions. But I think what makes these universities stand out is the achievement of their graduates.”
