Running for Breast Cancer Awareness

Run for Her Life, this was the theme for the charity run organised by Sunway University’s Diploma in Events Management students. The run held in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month managed to raise RM11,000, the proceeds were donated to the Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA).

More than 1,600 people turned up to support the 5km run, among them the management and staff of Sunway University Centre for Tourism, Hospitality and Culinary Management upholding Sunway’s Leading with Passion culture together with Dr. Zaharah Aiyub, members of BCWA and 7 breast cancer survivors.

“This event was a success, all thanks to my lecturer advisors, Miss Adeline Kok and Mr Jonathan Lee, sponsors for the event and my team mates. Without all of their blood, sweat and tears, this event would not have happened! Run for Her Life also would not have been successful without the support of all the participants. Their passion to Run for Her Life will be an inspiration for others to do their part and give back to society” said Katherine Liau, Sunway University student and Project Manager for Run for Her Life.
