A Wine Tasting event organized as a part of their coursework saw 13 students from the Diploma in Events Management of Sunway University College working and learning together as they organised the ‘Big Six Adventure’ at The Wine Cellar, a boutique wine company in the Bangsar suburb of Kuala Lumpur. The objectives of the event were to educate the students in gaining experience in the different fields of MICE and Events Production Operations module and to offer a platform for guests to network whilst enjoying and educating themselves on wines. The “Big Six” refers to the 6 varieties of grapes used to make wines that were served namely Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon.

The semester four students worked hard towards making the event a success; liaising with The Wine Cellar, toiling to sell tickets and seeking sponsorship which was just the tip of the iceberg for this project. The students successfully sold over 50 tickets, priced at RM25 per ticket.
The Wine Cellar is founded by a team of wine buffs, offering first-rate customer service and superb quality wines. The event was sponsored by Wine Cellar, Jasmine magazine, Photodata, Cleo magazine, Canon, The Slimming Sanctuary and Stationary Supplies. The attendees of the event were briefed and given a tasting on wines by Wine Cellar’s very own Wine Consultants Ms. Lindsay Searle and Mr. J. Sern.
