Golden Key International Honour Society Recognizes Sunway Students

120 students of Sunway University College comprising various programmes were recognized for their outstanding academic achievement and honoured with a membership into the Golden Key International Honour Society recently. The Golden Key is recognized as the world’s premier collegiate honour society that has nearly 2 million members from 190 countries. The Sunway students were from the School of Business, School of Computer Technology, School of Health and Natural Sciences, Australian Universities Programme as well as School of Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure Management.

At a ceremony held at Sunway University College recently, Professor Robert Bignall, Vice- Chancellor of Sunway University College said “Sunway is proud to have so many students recognized by this distinguished society and expressed how this may be an opportunity for them to improve themselves and contribute to society in future. He believes the exposure and leadership development attained through the society will help them excel in life.

Mr. Darren Tan, a representative of the Golden Key International Honour Society congratulated the new members for their hard work and dedication. He emphasized that membership to this society will serve as the medium for growth, innovation and leadership development for the students.

The new members of the Golden Key International Honour Society traditionally stand to benefit through scholarships, jobs and development opportunities as well as internships. Bavany Batmanathan, a student of Bachelor of Business Marketing (Victoria University) said “I expect to obtain a more rewarding career opportunity following this recognition and hope to make it in the International market, develop my leadership skills and lead something someday”.

Chen Yoke Yee, also from the same programme said “This ceremony made me feel like I have accomplished yet another triumph in life. From here, the path seems clearer as I hope to obtain a scholarship to do my Masters and then hopefully proceed to getting a good position in the corporate sector”.
