A brighter future for 48 Sunway ADTP Students

48 outstanding achievers from Sunway American Degree Transfer Programme (ADTP) made the Dean’s list recently. The August to December semester students produced 10 Summa Cum Laude achievers, 9 of which scored 4.0 in their GPA and 1 who scored 3.91 in his GPA. The Summa Cum Laude which means “with highest honours” when translated is a Latin phrase often used to recognize academic excellence at an undergraduate level.

Additionally, 19 students achieved the “Magna Cum Laude” (high honours) range which is for 3.70 to 3.89 GPA along with 19 other students who qualified for Cum Laude (with honour) for being in the 3.50 to 3.69 range.

Deserving students have always been recognized for their outstanding academic achievements at the annual Dean’s List Honourees Ceremony for each intake since 1990. This year’s awards were presented by Associate Dean Wilson Woods of Western Michigan University (WMU).

Arafat Bin Mahabub, one of the students with high honours said, “I felt honoured to receive a certificate from the Associate Dean Wilson Woods of Western Michigan University in the presence of my friends and lecturers. It has always been my dream to study in the United States; nonetheless my motivations to excel in my studies are my parents. Making the Dean’s list has made them very proud. The ADTP in Sunway enables me to be an all rounder when it comes to curricular and extra-curricular activities. The lecturers and students of ADTP have made it worthwhile”.

The Sunway ADTP helps one attain an American degree at an affordable rate by offering 2 years of study in Sunway before transferring into a range of many top-tier universities in the US. Besides preparing students for US life, Sunway ADTP also partakes in various community projects that expose students to different experiences that contribute to their learning and growth.
