A PARISIAN AFFAIR: Sunway University hosts French-inspired appreciation luncheon for Teachers
In conjunction with Teacher's Day on May 16, Sunway University hosted an appreciation luncheon for secondary school teachers from Klang Valley at the Multipurpose Hall, Sunway Monash Residence. Teachers, including principals and those from private and international schools, were treated to an afternoon of Parisian chic with a French-inspired theme.
The students, lecturers and chefs from the Centre for Tourism, Hospitality and Culinary Management, Sunway University created mocktails, canapés and mouth-watering cakes and pastries while the students and staff of the Department of Art and Design had a caricature and portrait drawing counter for the teachers. The luncheon was dedicated to the educators for all their hard work in nurturing the minds of our nation’s youth.
From the invitation card to the décor, every aspect of the luncheon was thoughtfully prepared by the organising team, eager to bring the atmosphere of Paris to the guests.
Elizabeth Lee, the Senior Executive Director of Sunway University and the Sunway Education Group said “Teachers carry a heavy burden on their shoulders because education is the most critical investment for the future. We can never underestimate the influence of teachers over their students. While most of them will remain a teacher for the rest of their lives, their students leap frog them to become doctors, lawyers, accountants and scientists of the nation. I am glad that today we can recognise this contribution.”
