Recently, three Diploma in Hotel Management (DHM) students, Lee Han Ying, Queeny Cheong and Sia Lee Chin from Sunway University visited France with their lecturer cum head chef Patrick Siau, who was the Team Captain of Team Malaysia representing Malaysia in the World Pastry Cup 2011 competition in Lyon in January 2011.

The students were supervised by lecturer Chong Wei Tzeh and chef instructor Soon Pau Voon in the cooking demo. Head Chef Patrick Siau, originally from Tawau, who did an elaborate sugar sculpture managed to impress the students and staff at the Le Cordon Bleu.

Hotel Management, Events Management and Culinary Arts diploma students at Sunway are encouraged to participate in competitions and external events as such experiences expose students to the real world. The experience of the students in France was invaluable in enhancing learning and skills and widening the knowledge of the students.
