Sunway Interior Design student’s artwork recognised

Equipped with talent and passion for art, Diploma in Interior Design student, Goh Ee Leng submitted his entry in the Mixed Media category during the Tanjong Heritage Art Competition 2012 and won the third prize, walking away with cash worth RM 1,000. His submission, an illustration of an elderly man preparing a cup of coffee sketched on coffee stains was his representation of a Malaysian heritage.

Varsity Run raises RM24,000

The Run for GOLD Charity Marathon organised by the Sunway University Business School (SUBS) Student Concilium recently was a runaway success judging from the over 1000 participants who turned up on a Sunday morning recently at 7 am to clean the 7 km route starting from and ending at the Graduate Centre, Sunway University. Funds raised amounted to RM24,000 which was donated to GOLD, a special class of students with learning disabilities. GOLD stands for Generating Opportunities for the Learning Disabled and is located at Komplex 3C in Bandar Sunway.

The participants included 15 GOLD special students, students of Sunway University and other institutions, staff and the public. The Top 10 finishers in the men’s and women’s categories each received a medal and a T-shirt.

Third time, still a charm

Sunway’s American Degree Transfer Programme (ADTP) students have been nothing short of excellent in their latest theatre production titled, Seven + One = VIII. The production comprising eight plays were gripping, moving and received a rumbling of laughter from a room full of spectators.

The THEA 1000 class produced, directed and performed in each of these short stories in only a mere 46 days. The plays were a mixture of an original screenplay and adaptations of popular classics.
